Pastor Rick Lawrence is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He was ordained in 1984 and has served congregations in Michigan, Wisconsin, and now Arizona. He has worked in parishes as a pastor/developer starting a new mission congregation as well as revitalizing the ministries of existing parishes.
In 1996 he received a doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Care & Counseling from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. Pastor Rick (as he likes to be called) is dedicated to attending ongoing educational events to further his knowledge and practice of ministry. He says, |
"I believe every person has a God-given desire for the spiritual. We live in a day and age where knowledge has stretched our understanding of the world and ourselves. More and more people are seeking an expression of religion that encourages thinking, questioning, and a practice of ministry that complements the spiritual journey. In our times, a progressive theology and an engaged ministry are good ingredients for spiritual growth." |
Pastor Rick is married. He and Jill have four children
all of whom now are independently living on their own. Regular exercise, love of the outdoors, reading, and enjoying the arts round out the rhythm of life and work. |
