Holy Communion
Like Baptism, Holy Communion is a sacrament of the church. We believe that Jesus instituted this gift to the church during his Last Supper with the disciples. We believe that Christ is truly present in the bread and wine (or communion wafer, grape juice, non-alcoholic wine). At Bethany we practice what is sometimes called an "Open Table" or "Open Communion." This means that all are welcome to receive the sacrament, including small children. If you have questions about our understanding of communion and who is welcome to receive the sacrament kindly contact the pastor.
