Holy Communion

Holy Communion along with Baptism is considered one of the two sacraments in the Lutheran Church. At Bethany, we have no age or membership restrictions on who can receive Holy Communion. Members, non-members, visitors, and guests are all welcome to receive God's gifts in this special meal.

Children commune at the discretion of their parents. The pastor makes sure at every worship service that those visiting are welcome to the communion table. We understand Holy Communion to be God's total and free gift to us all. It is a meal underscoring God's forgiveness and acceptance. As we receive what God gives us in this meal, so then do we go out into the world to be agents of forgiveness and acceptance ourselves.
